I really want to inform Jalopnik.com of our game and how it will bereally awesome, but I'm afraid if I do exspose us to Jalopnik. I am afraid we will have nothing to show and they will not like fake car names or car parts.

I'm really excited for this as well as anyone. I would love to start playing this game right now. When we do get beta and some testers and then an offcial release. I would be glad to send Jalopnik some info.

Blogs are for expressing one's opinions so I am happy to see Kevmeister expressing his thoughts on beta testing! it's not out of the question that more than one of the unsavory types he outlined are already residing on the forums, ready to try their best to find the exploits so we can handle it before the masses arrive. Expert hacks who are on our side. Guys who don't have to cheat to be good at gaming but are intelligent enough to know what to exploit and where to explore for it.
We dislike what cheating represents. We want this community to stay clean for everyone! :x It takes a community to help find what's wrong with the beta so the dev team can make it right for release.
I hope people understand that Beta isn't a game, it may be glitchy, and will need work. Reporting a problem and resolving issues might take time so it isn't always a fast track.
Others are already involved in beta testing elsewhere so they know what to expect. If you are all boo hoo how come it's taking so long, we don't really owe you an explanation. ;) It will be ready to test when it's ready to test and not a moment sooner! :D Eventually everyone will have to put their money where their mouth is and we'll see who's top guns and gunnettes!

Everyone's getting impatient, they don't know how much is going on behind the scenes. I've gotten a glimpse at what Ken and Paul have been up to, and it's worth the wait! We've been following this dream for over 3 years. We've had ups and downs but we've stuck it out and we're getting closer. Stick around. It's going to be fun!

Hey there, and thank you for stopping by my blog. I'm Vic, or RW to my friends here in Motor World. I'm the radio voice on Motor World's radio station XREV radio!
I happened across a post on another car game forum 3 years ago, from some guy who was working to create a similar game to our long lost Motor City Online. He seemed just serious enough that I decided I'd just jump right in with both feet and support him come hell or high water as he went about making this dream come true.
Since then, we've tried and dumped a couple of different game engines. We've had artists, programmers, and forum members come and go, and some who have then returned again with vigor.
There have been times when we're all ready to give up but we've found support with each other around here, and we've persevered.
We are coming closer and closer to making the dream come alive. Our fantastic dev crew has been dev'in their butts off to make the game. Our awesome forum members have kept up the morale on the boards and given us reason time and time again to keep going.
We're getting there, slowly but surely. We're wrangling out game details now, and our art team is furiously cranking out excellent art. The music team is creating some killer game music. Yours Truly is busy recording the banter you'll hear in-game as radio chatter, and in-game voice.
It's all for you guys, so thank you to everyone who visits our forums for your inventive ideas, your continued patience, and your love of the concept we are building!

New V6 2010 Camaro unveiling at my nearest chevy dealership

hey guys,

hey guys,

today there were 2 new 2010 Camaros being unveiled at 2 chevy dealerships near me.

1 had a V8 and the closest chevy dealership to me had the v6.

I went to the v6 camaro unveiling, the v8 got more attention but the v6 got to be test driven by the local media, they liked it.

I went to the v6 unveiling at Roger Dean Chevrolet. They all had years of different Camaros and chevys there, but nobody bothered to look at them because the new v6 was the star of the show. To Be honest, we went to a car show just down the road from the dealership and not very many people knew the new Maro was down at the dealership.

so on to the new V6 maro, It's a nice car. It's smaller than i thought. It's roomy, It looks and says Camaro. My only beef is the trunk and the trunk door. IT'S SMALL! but the trunk spacing is a decent size.I hope they improve that for the 11' model.

I got to sit in the passanger and driver's seat. Very roomy leg room and the pedals are correctly sized and spaced for all types of feet. The dash is wonderful, i loved the dash, nice added throwback touch. The console and tranny were decent as well, standard looking automatic shifter nothing too fancy. the gauges in the center console were cool looking. the Sattelite radio was good and decently done although I would've stuck with the dash color rather than a silver radio.

The engine compartment is about the same as the trunk. It's small but the engine is covered up and very neatly organized even outside the engine cover.

Projected 300 hp DOHC V6 engine that gets an estimated 18/27 MPG with automatic transmission** couldn't drive it though.

if you wanted to get the new camaro. GET THE V8 VERSION!

V8 Version:

Projected 400 hp V8 engine with automatic transmission and Active Fuel Management for added fuel savings

-Projected 422 hp V8 engine with manual transmission

16/25 mpg

I would've gone with the 400 v8 because i can't drive stick due to my minor cerebral Palsy.
you would still get great gas milage and you would do it in a really really fun car.

The only problem with the car now is there have been reports of battery cable problems. its a 30 minute fix but im sure anyone with decent car knowledge can fix it.

I'm glad Ken got his and i hope you have a lot of fun with it Ken. It's a great way to advertise Motor World Online and have fun doing so. just make sure you put a sticker or 2 advertising MWO if you want to.

The car will sell well because there are lots and lots of preorders down here in florida. People even went to used car dealerships looking for them.

I'm not much of a chevy fan but i will say this. It's a good addition even in bad times and a government take over.

If i would've gotten to test drive it, i would've done a more through review.

Oh, my. Been a while since I updated.

Copperhead is pretty much done on my end, and while I was offline, due to finacial issues, I began work on a tribute track to one of my old PU favorites, Auvergene. The track is called "LaByrinth" and it has several routes to get lost in. (I hope we have working headlights, cause we'll need them. "This is a dark ride"

I also got back to the farmyard track. The layout is done, just fixing the edges and adding buildings and fences.
In the meantime, our daughter Alyssa arrived on January 30, 2009. :D

I have begun preliminary work on the "new" Copperhead Road track. Some minor differences, but the layout is the same. :D I had to take out a whole chunk of the terrain model, due to limitations, but that can be well hidden, I hope. ;)
I'll be working on it over the w/e so maybe I can have some new pics up by Monday.

Thats right.... SUV's.

SUV's are full of crap and people do not use them for what they are intended for. We have lost the intention for these in the beginning of the new millennium.

SUV's should be taken off the road. seriously!!! it would lower gas and emissions a whole lot. I got ran off the road today by an SUV driver. These people have no sense of courtesy on the road because their car is the so called king of the freaking road and THEY CAN NOT DRIVE PERIOD!

Why do people drive these things? Why, Because they're big and they make people less respectful of other drivers who actually drive real sedans, trucks, jeeps, and vans.

Reasons why people feel the need to buy these vehicles:

-They want to feel safe.

yea they are not really safe. The safest car i have had was a big metal 1985 Oldsmobile delta 88 sedan. Nobody got in my way when i drove that, and i respected other drivers. I drove that around at least 3 times before gas prices shot up and we sold it. today it would cost $70 to fill it. Let me tell you if i got in an accident with that i would be like a bee sting. Those old 80s caddys and olds and monte carlos, they are safe as anything. Those cars are now being jacked up on big fat tires.... LAME!

SUV's have a slightly higher roll rate.

-it's cheap

of course they are cheap because you can't make payments on a van that can do the same job.

-good gas millage

bull!! they get better than a hummer thats about it.

-good tires.

bull if you get a flat, you might flip over. small chance but it would be less if you drive a van or a sedan.

seriously, if you are thinking about an SUV get a van. They do the same thing, they get your kids to school and sports games, they can carry stuff and you can fit more people in a van. I'm thinking about getting 2 custom bumper stickers on my car one saying "This car runs on Soylent Green" and "SUV drivers=good Soylent Green"

If i see more SUV's in the next decade im going to have burn SUVs in my neighborhood or get Richard Dean Anderson(MacGuyver), give him a fork and a toothpick to disassemble your SUV and then call Chuck Norris to roundhouse kick you in the face.

GET A VAN or a sedan!!!!

Technology in MWO - Part I

Since we have suffered two engine changes over the last year and a half, a lot of people ask me what technology is being used in MWO?

For starters...

Since we have suffered two engine changes over the last year and a half, a lot of people ask me what technology is being used in MWO?

For starters when picking our engine 4 major factors had come to mind.

1. Source Code/Access

We want to be able to make modifications to the code at anytime and be able to add new features on the fly that the engine might not support out of the box.

2. Physics

We want realistic physics but not a huge price tag like Havoc Physics. (yes we realize there is a free version but its old and out dated and its only free because more and more developers have turned to PhysX) The obvious choice here for us was Agiea PhysX. Phys X is being used in several commercial games including Unreal 3/Gears of War. Phys X offers very realistic dynamics and wheel coliders allowing us to obtain a pretty well rounded simulation of a muscle car.

http://www.ageia.com/physx/index.html

3. Network

The game is a MMO. But this MMO works a bit differently. Mostly you are communicating with the master server, updating your times, positions, scores, cash, inventory and so on. Most of this can be done threw the WWW and databases. We chose RAknet for the technology behind our networking needs. You may or may not realize that Raknet is used in many commercial games like Flatout and is MMO ready and used in almost ALL Sony Online Entertainment games.

http://www.jenkinssoftware.com/

4. Art Pipeline

This turned into the most important of the 4. The artists need a clean easy path to get into the engine and test out there artwork. For this we needed an engine that would support FBX natively.

Hello there, just posting up to let ya know what I am up to hehe

A week or so back, a forum i regularly visit named SMCars (3d modeling related) started up a contest for 60's era cars, and i entered with my car, the 1967 Ford Fairlane 500 4 Dr Sedan.

This is a High poly model I am making based on my real car. It will not be in MWO, or at least, this exact model will not be.
I will be using this model, once finished to make various textures, and blueprints for another model which i will be making specially for MWO

Soo while this model is not going into MWO, I will be using this model to make another one which will ;)

And thats it,, till next time. :ciao:
