No, but I've used one before. Dreamed of having one ever since. Really like how they are FF but the wheel doesn't feel as notchy as FF wheels are usually.

Only gripes is the shifter is a short throw or something. Makes it real easy to go from 3rd to 2nd instead of getting it to 4th. Something I'm sure you'll be fine with when you get hours on it.

actually i liked mine at first but now i hate it...i like tension through out the wheel...in my arca game i can get it because I run 400 degrees of rotation but when i switch over to 250 degrees for my dirt games i get slop in the middle and no matter what settings i have i get that slop and it drives me insane...if i can find settings to fix it ill like it again.

I have a G25.
I use it with LFS, which is an amazing simulator.

I have had no troubles so far, and it's just so nice to drive with.

Turn up your steering lock, and that should fix it.

My birthday is coming up if anyone wants to buy me one of these hehe. Jokes aside I would love to get one of these wheels. Especially for development of MWO because we plan to 100% support it clutch and all.

I am sending you exactly what you sent me for my birthday! :playingball:

I will however give you a link to the cheapest I found for this setup. :D

I've always had good luck with Tigerdirect products. They're my main source. I'd love a G-25 but I'll prolly just stick with my ol' momo til it pukes.

In dirtfactor or any late model mod I have on Rfactor I run 40 degrees and that dont fix it.

I'd like a G as well, but the price here is still too high. Even a Momo is just out of reach. :(
Guess I'm stuck with a gamepad for now. :bawling:

Ouch... hope it's at least a 360 controller. I'm curious just how through the clutch-system is expected to be though now. Able to stall or not....

$300 is the same price as the fanatec GT3 RS and from the looks of it, the G27's pedals are basically the same as the G25's. This means it's probably better to get the GT3 RS (it doesn't some with a shifter, so that's a difference).

Whats the difference between the G25 and G27? Does it have more buttons or we just talking the shift light being the only thing?

Ayce

The 25 has 2 buttons on the wheel, the 27 has 6.
Wife saw what I was looking at and said "$300.00 US? NO WAY!"
I think the 25 might go down in price a bit when the 27 hits the market.

Both on the same page, and the Momo.

g27 has more buttons and they did away with spur gears they use a transmission type system. Also the pedals are basically the same but you can slide them side to side for better heel toe shifting.

Hm...i would only pay that much if i built my own arcade style booth...are they really that much better than just using a controller?

KEN

True I wasn't comparing the MSRP I was going by local store price hehe you can pick up a G25 for $225, or preorder the G27 for $299.

To me it really adds to the experience. I had the old Momo wheel and loved it.

J_Simmons

yea it adds a whole another experience then just a controller. If you drive a arca style game then a wheel doesnt really matter IMO. The sims I play (ARCA 08, IRacing, ETC) a controller would not do.

If i have the extra cash i might have to pick one up just to see the difference

it adds a whole level of realism to the games...Like in arca using the clutch to save fuel or puttin it in 4th gear to coast and also save fuel. I really want a g27 but from what I seen from sim racing tonight not much different then just buttons.

Shh, J_Simmons! If he doesn't know he can do better with a wheel, don't tell him. HE'S THE ENEMY!

But no, if you do a sim, you have to have a wheel. You can get by without probably noticing or caring in an arcade racer like NFS with a pad, but you'll suffer in any simulator. There's not enough accuracy in a thumbstick to take a turn with the proper angle, requiring you to release throttle or tap the stick in that direction (both of which will slow the car down or worse if it's a very grumpy car setup).

yah believe me it was hard to concentrate on both.....i made it though but it was a lot of work. Here is the review, but it is really hard to pay attention to the wheel when other things are present. http://www.insidesimracing.tv/videos/view/68

after i get a computer and after the beta comes out i will pick one up...but im curious as to how the car will handle...i like simulations but not so much that its like driving to the grocery...to me there is only 2 games i find fun to drive...MCO and Grid...i just want to know what game it compares to in the handling department

I'm still up in the air about a wheel. I had a bad experience with an old thrustmaster model and went with a controller. I remember the learning curve I had with that and would have a steep climb with a wheel. eventually I might just have to bite the bullet and try it.

I've been an online stock car racer for about 8 years now. With a true simulation game you'll need a wheel to compete. I use a TSW2 wheel and love it, but I wouldn't spend the money for a new one (got mine for $100 from a friend). I race Arca, some Iracing, NR2003, Rfactor and all of those games need the wheel. I don't use the wheel in GRID though, just didn't feel right to me.

I look forward to this game coming out someday.

The ole MOMO will have to work till it dies, then it will be the G25 for sure. The price ought to come down a bit once the new G27 comes out.

Between Jessica and that dudes little red and blue booties (having a hard time not laughing out loud to myself) I had to go back and watch it again. Damn her and that yellow dress. Ok trying to watch it for a third time.... :">

I broke down and got a G25 from tigerdirect (thanks Scorp!) Was going to need it to fully support it in MWO so it was sooner or later bound anyway hehe. I like the gear shifter better on the G25.

I am about to do the same. How is the noise level with the straight gears. The shifter is what has me leaning towards the G25 to be able to tap it up and down instead of the H pattern. Let me know if there is anything you don't like about it.

It will be here tomorrow I will let you know Scorp. I like the idea of being able to choose with the gear shifter, something they took away with the G27, and the extra buttons and light up RPM are nice, but I will live with out them.

the h pattern has a clicking noise. it is kinda loud, but it dont bother me. When you put it in sequential it doesn't click at all.
