Freebie Monitor [Archive] - Motor World Online

My neighbor gave me her dell flatscreen monitor that has been stored out in her old Skylark for about six months. I brought it home and plugged it in and surprise surprise, it came on, worked fine last night. "yay" I thought, "yahtzee!"
Tried it this morning and nothing, nada, zip. No lights coming on or nothing. I unplugged and plugged it in again a time or two but nothing.
Oh well... I'm just glad I didn't take my old giant monitor out to the garage and have to pack it back in.

Freebie monitors, gotta love them haha.
While ago picked up 3 of those old style monitors, 2x17'' i believe and 1x15''.
The 15'' is hooked up at my laptop as the light tubes are dead, and 1 17'' got hooked up at my other old PC were its old monitor got to dark, so replaced that one to, and the other one is stored with the old ''darker'' monitor.
All 3 are working still great though, and with a bit of soap they look like new.

Did you open up the flatscreen to see whats inside?

it's probably just the switch since it came on fine last night. Gonna see what my local geek will charge me to fix it. Or donate it to the local school if he wants to rip me off.

I turn off the power strip when I shut the computer off, doesn't seem to bother it when I do that but techno-god forbid I push the on/off button on the monitor.

Thats a fact - the DELL stopped workin' and that's why it was all tossed out in the Skylark. Here in Elk Snout, we uses our old dead cars to store our old dead computers and whatnot.
