In MWO can you blow your motor like in real life........tired of ppl sitting at the drag strip with 30,000 dollar motors killing when if in real life you drove it around town it would blow
Was thinkin for some drag strip events make it a street challenge where they have to drive a certain amount of miles without the motor blowing????
Just like in a True Street class.........just my opinion sounds sortuf like a cool idea to me what do all of yall think about it?

i personally think that would be really cool if u could blow your engine, it would keep you cautious of your oil temp, and rpm or else u be spending 40k and up on a new motor lol;)

if thats the case then I would like to see other parts that don't hold up... for instance.. you have a 1400HP motor with a stock 10 bolt rear end.. first launch the axles would snap... or say that motor with a standard auto trans you might make 2 or 3 passes befor you skatter the tras or convertor

see i like that idea both of yalls is really good i used to have a 32 fenderless bumperless coupe piss yellow....american graffitti was my favorite car had a SB 400 had 679 HP and like 780TQ loved it but i used to go up against bigblock ppl with 1300 HP motors and get killed but both of them would last the same amount of time and for a newbie coming out there with a stock car against another 1300hp wouldnt be fair unless the 1300HP had reliability issues
Im just saying i want this to be as real as possible and fair for the poor man in game to the rich man in game Just my own opinion

ok Now in all fairness... you picked the wrong races..lol...
and Like I said earlier parts that don't hold up.
for instance 1300HP in a car not reliable for say a best of 7 race?
NP I have a friend that has one we drive around town to car shows then go out to the trace and knock off a low 8 sec pass. But I see your point most people couldn't build a car like that in real life and I agree the game needs to be as real as possible with out sacraficing playabilty for the non car guys.
I belive you should be able to blow your motor. but after you do you car should still be able to move like 30 mph so you can finish the race
I feal that if you put a 1300hp motor in a car and have a stock rearend or trany in it. the first or second time to launch of the line at a dragstrip one of the 2 should scatter or axles snap
I'm all for parts breaking and things wearing out.
I miss MCO right now... :(

i agree with that too i also would like maintenence done to the motor like freshen the valves and stuff like that but its getting way into detail with that so what your saying is good.......sure would be nice racing for pinks and ahve your opponent blow a cheap rear end and you win it from them :)

If you build it right it shouldn't blow up in the first place... Maybe that's just a Chevy problem? :P

what happened to how fast ya wanna go depends on how much ya wanna spend?
i think that was one of the great things with mco and also remember that people who ran classes usually had a car set for that track i dont think you should be able to blow an engine thats not what the game is about i thought mco had the dmg part nailed it wasnt that a newbie was worse then the vet the vet was just that more knowledgable
as for the car set ups cause really thats what it was all about who had the better set up and also remember you can set up those races just beacuse your car wasnt set for that track and his was thats your loss but it took time thats all remember its not an arcade game and also there is always a loser hope you guys get the point...

What about our little tricks for the tracks don't want to give anything away but ie MPH tricks that i used at the strip and launchs that i used for great 60' times. it wasn't just hold 4k rpm and go just wondering if some of that will be the same.

You might just have to wait it out and experiment on that one madman.

yeah i like the idea of blown engines. The game will be even more fun than mco if it is more realistic.

On top of blown engines, It would also be pretty sweet to see car's break the tires loose if you get out of the groove. And of course the most common reason for blown motors the use of spray! Forcing one to ask them selfs is the juice really worth the squeeze. I'm not sure how in depth they will be willing to take the drag racing aspect of the game but there is some real neat stuff they could impliment to make MCO strips look like a joke......
