As a european who loved to watch both nascar and indycar / cart series
I was wondering if there are any good (recent) games available to recommend?
We don't hear much from those sports here unfortunately (well at least not where I live...)
So just wondering if there's anything I should try out :-)
Thanks!

I'm a long time online racer and the games that are still kicking are arca sim racing and Nascar racing 2003 (made by Papyrus not EA Sports). The arca game is a great game and looks like the older Nascar cars from say 2007.

If you have rFactor (which supports a lot of mods), you may be interested in VHR Stock Car mod (website: http://www.vhracing.net/). I tried to use it a while back and couldn't get my car set up right, but you may have better luck. Appears they are using current cars and skins. It includes Sprint, Nationwide, and craftsman trucks I believe (I'm downloading it now to see for sure, but I recall it being like that before).
There's a good chance there is indycar / cart series mods for rFactor too. There not as complete (you have to download the cars and the tracks), but if you go to rFactorcentral.com (namely: http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=IndyCar%20Series%202009), you'll see they have 2009 IndyCar series mod. There's also a CART: Prologue mod (http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=CART%20Factor%3A%20Prologue) you may want to check out.
RFactor itself comes with a stock car mod and an open wheel mod, but no real-world tracks or skins. These mods would fix that.
Other than community-made mods, there's no games I know of that came out recently for those series though. Like DRSlam said though, NR2k3 and ARCA could be some good choices as well for the NASCAR side of your question.

they got it setup so u rank up in licensing system to where u dont gotta grab all the tracks and cars at once.. cuz if ur a rookie u can only race certain cars and certain tracks.. than when u get ur license up u can race cars alittle faster and buy that car and a couple tracks to run that series.. each series is 3 months so it makes it so u dont throw alot of cash at once.. and if u buy a year its only $8 a month.. $156 a year = 8$a month + u get $60 free in cars and tracks or $60 free on the ur next subscription.
