I'm a petrolhead, and have way too much intrest in racing games.
However, when i was at school, i was browsing some abandonware sites and found these little gems:
http://abandonia.com/en/games/34/Street+Rod+2+-+The+Next+Generation.html
http://abandonia.com/en/games/177/Street+Rod+1.html
They're a couple of muscle car games set in the 60's.
You'll need the DoSbox emulator to run it, but it's good.

I remember playing those.. An independent group started on a Street Rod 3, but it pretty much got abandoned.
Here is the website, there's and alpha version download along with SR 1&2 PC versions.

yo not for nothing i checked out that game and it's @#$%^ bad. Plus I think u need a commador 64 too run that game cause it was made in 1984. U are not worthy for this game. Did u see what these developers have done too this game? Sorry but they have come a long way. (Murch)

That was.. confusing... but the developers of MWO are in no way affliated with street rod franchise.
No, you do not need a commadore 64 to play that game... as Dread said, you will need DosBox Emulator as the game was made for DOS and DOS programs don't function well natively in XP/Vista.
Since you are new here, I'll tell you that many people here are eagerly waiting for MWO to go into beta. While they wait, they've been picking through older games and trying to find ones that'll keep us sane. One example of this was Street Rod series. Another was Street Legal Racing Redline. Both allowed for you to buy cars and change out parts which is what, based on the poll on the website says, is one of the biggest attractions to MWO.
That's why Dread felt it worthy to post this link. I don't know if ANY of us are worthy of playing it though... but as far as I know no one has been stopped from doing so.

I actually found this game for my brother (age 16) and he liked it, so i then tried it, and i thought it was good, so i thought i might post it.
I was just telling pepole it's out there, they don't actually have to play it.

Street Rod was a pretty decent game because of how simple it was. Of course it dose not stand a chance with games these days but its still installed on my computer and play it often when I can.
