may not be a muscle car but shes still pretty sweet, the car is a 1974 Saab Sonett III. the car is 1 of 2483 built in 74 and one of around 10,000 built. the motor in this car is a beastly Ford Taunus V4  . overall the car is very clean andwe expect to have it going in a month or 2, no full restoration just regular maintence. odly when the car was parked 19 years ago it was due for all its 35,000 maintence which we are now performing 19 yrs later at 32,275 miles on the odometer.

so heres a link to our updated daily blog: http://karmannghias.org/blog/

Awsome,It's always good to hear a father son team on a resto.

Personally I'm kinda parcial to domestics but I REALLY like the uniqueness of it.Keep us posted on this.:D:D:D:D:D

we actually paid the same cost of the car when it was new, and as far as we can tel levery time its been sold, its been sold for the same amount lol

we believe the car was built to compete with the nissan 240 and 260zs the motor supposedly puts otu around 65 horsepower but the car weighs close to 1800 lbs with driver so the power to weight ratio lets the little guy achieve aroudn 110mph

ill keep you guys updated

well sorry about the delay, but 2 weekends ago, we got the car up and running!

all thats left is our fuel sender, which we need from palo alto(still being rebuilt)

there is a funky noise we didnt hear while driving but is hear in the video that once the sender is in we will try and discover, heres the vids :D

please ignore our conversations we were talking about random stuff dealing with this car and our others lol

Theres no way it was built to compete with the 240Z with those figures. The 240Z weighed 2300lbs, and had 150hp, and could achieve over 130mph /w the 4 speed manual...

well actually the sonett weighs aroun 1800 lbs with drive on a 68 hp v4 it can achieve 120 mph(like i said before lol[dumb me]), but it corners like a beast! it also has some funky thing calleda freewheeling system that keeps the engines current rev once u let off the gas until u brake lol(not cruise its different) :D

we got ours officially street legal yesterday just making 79 days!
