Hey, everybody. SVT_MAN just introduced me to this game (we go way back together), and it sounds pretty cool. I'm a decent software developer, but I don't have C# experience, so I'm not sure I'll be of to much use on the coding. I do have some experience at modeling, so if I get really excited I'll probably dust off ZModeler (better yet, download whatever Oleg's newest version is) and pull my unfinished models out of the mothballs.

The one I think you all will be most interested in is a '69 Camaro SS Convertible. The body is nearly finished (and it's decent-looking, as I recall—I think about the only thing left to be done on the exterior is some normals-tweaking), but I stink at modeling interiors (it's much harder to find blueprints for those :D) and doing realistic performance tuning, so I'd love to enlist some help with those.

I have to say I'm more than a little disappointed to hear that it's being programmed in C#, because that pretty much precludes any possiblity of a Linux port. :(

Welcome, Doug. We're glad to have you aboard. I'm not sure about Linux portability - but the game will work on MacOSX for sure ... and that is a UNIX base (as you know), so maybe it will be easier than you think.

With Linux, nothing is impossible! Just really, really hard... and requires you know where to get the right packages... Maybe that's just my experience though.

Not in modern versions of Linux--Red Hat, Mandriva, Debian, Ubuntu, and lots of others all have very well-designed package management systems that automatically find and download any dependencies. But yes, in old-school Linux, there was lots of searching for libraries and packages, that's true.

Whoa, awesome! My bad, I just assumed everything behind C# was MS proprietary and unavailable for Linux. I might have to give C# a try now, just to add it to my list of programming languages.

Hey Carluva, you'll want to talk to Taigo about models, he's our main art director. Welcome to the forums and Motor World!
