Oh yes, I played it a lot, and still have it installed and cruise around (if you can call 200+ kph on twisty roads for cruising). I think the game is fantastic but was ruined by the bad online function. The club wasn't what I intended, and others from my old forum, RacerPlanet, thought the same.

Another issue is that while there's a sim-feel physics that's smooth enough for keyboard driving then the gear-ratios of some cars were wrong and that made the cars harder to drive since the torque would be so high it couldn't start without wheelspin, especially since the cars with too low gears included the Corvette C6, Viper SRT-10 and Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. Also a shame the only fwd in the game had severe wheelspin problems. In real life I read the Alfa GT uses a special type of LSD that's really effective for fwd use.
TDU was made by Eden Games who also made NFS Porsche Unleashed (aka Porsche 2000) and I think it shows, in a good way. PU was the GPL of arcade-games although it was probably the most authentic game in the NFS series, and it's still being played online to this day by enthusiasts.

I would love MWO to have a similar function like TDU, the avatar system was pretty interesting although they should've included some plain clothes too, and a way to get that shirt tucked in the pants. It was also really nice to see a real, if limited, selection of car manufacturer's own options. Optional original wheels and in a few cases, like the Alfa GT, an original bodykit. I don't think Alfa tunes the engine though. AutoDelta would've been a cool partner in that venture though, like you can tune the Ford Mustang GT into one of three Saleen versions

I also love the garage although I wish I could arrange the car positions or at least move completely freely around the garage, like you can in Project Gotham Racing 2 and 4 (I don't know about 1 and 3 since I don't have them).

The bad side to TDU is that, I think, the main part of the island is computergenerated using GPS data and such and then roads were added but they're a bit bumpy but this is most likely either due to them originally being scanned from GPS and then later modified by a human modeler or that they had to limit polygons due to the scope of the island.

What all muscle cars does TDU have?
Since not all agree on what a musclecar is then I'll just list all american cars in the game.

* indicates they are part of the official car megapack, it's not free, but close when considering how many cars are in it.

Carnames as they appear in the game, comments in paranthesis are by myself:
AC 289 (aka Shelby Cobra)
Cadillac CTS-V*
Cadillac XLR-V
Cadillac Cien*
Chevrolet SSR
Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 (maybe a 1968 model but I'm not sure)
Chevrolet Corvette C1 1957*
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 69
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible 1971*
Chevrolet Corvette C6 Coupe
Chevrolet Corvette C6 Convertible*
Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 Coupe
Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Coupe
Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Roadster
Chrysler 300C SRT-8
Chrysler Firepower Concept Car
Chrysler ME Four-Twelve
Dodge Challenger RT* (1970 model I think)
Dodge Charger Super Bee* (1971 model I think)
Dodge Viper SRT 10 Coupe*
Dodge Viper SRT 10
Ford Mustang GT Coupe
Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Ford Mustang GT-R Concept
Ford Shelby Cobra Concept
Ford Shelby GR-1 Concept
Ford GT
Pontiac Firebird (Trans Am model, either a 1972 or 1973 I think)
Pontiac GTO (rebadged aussie Holden Monaro)
Saleen S281 3 valve Coupe
Saleen S281 3 valve Coupe
Saleen S281 Supercharged Coupe
Saleen S281 Supercharged Convertible
Saleen S281 Extreme Coupe
Saleen S281 Extreme Convertible
Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo
Saturn Sky
Saturn Curve
Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe
Shelby GT500 ('67 model)

Note: Saleen Mustangs need to be bought as a normal Ford Mustang Coupe/Convertible and then converted into Saleen models at the high end tuning store.

if you want a fun play, i advise buying a steering wheel, or making your own, but its not really fun unless you make your own gear shifter. you can find videos of these on youtube. quite interesting.

This game is a lot of fun, but it locks up with greenish tinted graphics, only way out is a hard reboot. Interestingly, it can be 2 mins into the game or 30 mins, just a timb bomb waiting to go off. :(
