Well, it's only 20*F here.

Very true! We are in our cruise season right now, Oct to May. Most car shows and cruises shut down June to Sept, too hot and too much rain, no promoter wants to take a chance on it raining when no cars will show up.
As for the "H" word you said, been there, done that (several times) didnt like it!

so how is traction in -30F* weather?
Traction is fine, even when it's cold, but it's lousy in the snow, which we are getting now. Started about 9 AM and it's still coming. Got off work early because of it.

It's been in the mid 60's during the day here, night can get a bit cold but nothing under 40 so far. The news says a cold front is comming in so it may get into the 30's at night and 50's during the day. If you live in AZ, you prefer these days to the mid summer 115 or so. Its not fun riding a motorcycle in 115 deg weather. The faster you go, the more it seems like you have a blowdryer about 5 inches from your face...

North East Pennsilvainia it's about 30F and there calling for 8 inches of snow this friday 12/19. We have had more but it's a good amount this time of year. When I was a kid I lived in CitrusHightes Callafornia and one winter it was 29F and people didn't know what to do cause they didn't have ice scrapers. LOL people were late for work and they canceled school. Everone was using there credit card's to scrape the ice off there windshied's

Well the good news is it's warmed up! The bad news is it warmed up and SNOWED. We have demolished our old all-time record of 13" in 24 hrs by about 10".
They use salt on the roads hereabouts until the temps go down to 10 or so - then even salt water freezes and makes things even worse. Once it gets that cold they go back to good ol' sand. Right now it's snowing so hard the sand trucks are useless, and it's so cold the salt is useless. Makes for interesting driving, for sure. Most people who are from around here do ok, it's all the idiots that transplant themselves from AZ, CA and FL who cause the most problems. They go down the road just fine in their big ol' SUV, but don't realize that it's the stopping that's the issue.
It's not the speed that kills, its those abrupt stops. (or not so abrupt, in the case of ice and snow!)
