View Full Version : Intrigue, G25 wheel

I don't just simply want to buy a G25 wheel blindly. I have some questions for the G25 owners here.
1. Is it rugged? I cant have a sissy wheel that cant take some abuse. I see the pedals are metal. How do they feel? Dose the brake have some stiff travel before it stops? How about the clutch?

2. The wheel motion. If the car isn't moving, will the wheel stay where I turned it? Dose the motion of turning the wheel have any weight to it? Will the wheel return to center when im moving forward?

Now, I know some things depend on how in depth a game is. For instance, I'm sure in most games, I cant stall the car. Plus, steering feel would differ from auto to auto IRL.

Well, at this point I seem silly eh? Ive been racing with a paddle for ten years. Its going to take some serious hardware to impress me to learn to drive all over again.

That is the logitech description of the G25, and might have more in depth answers regarding some points.

Me personally I have owned 4 different wheels, and none compare to the G25. For all of the mentioned points in your post the G25 would be the highest rated ive owned.

There are a few better as far as racing sim wheels go. But you are talking HUGE dollars.

Check out the pricing for those. The G25 is worth every penny.

Big thanks KRB, seriously.
I saw some left foot braking in one vid. Do you thinl I will have to master some left foot breaking to get the most out of racing? You see, Ive never raced a car, so having real control is something new.

I got a G25 and it's not bad, the pedals are very sturdy and the brakepedal is much stiffer than the throttle and the clutch is in-between, but it's nothing like a real car though. The wheel's leather is like my the leather Momo sportwheel in my mom's 06 Lancer (exact same type used in the Evo models), slippery like crazy, and the wheel is thin too but that's with my hands, you might experience it differently.

Regarding your second question then FF is totally dependant on info from the game played. The G25 however has two motors which enable it to switch direction much faster than a normal single-engine FF wheel which gives a clear difference, but as written above then it all depends on the game software.

Ill be honest, for the Sim's I am racing in now I only use the clutch for starts. The cars are all sequential anyways by nature, and it actually slows you down H shifting + Clutch.

I think this thread should be moved into the Gaming Chat forum, as its not related to MWO.

If you need more info Jake shoot me a PM with any questions.
