what do you think they should do? Congress told them to come back with a plan, and to come back not by private jet.

what do you all think about this?

Terrible. Look at us now. Back 20 years ago, we'd have no choice to help em'. Now, we tell em' to do it themselves. Absolute BS. You know why this is the way it is? Because SOME Americans would rather buy a japanese made cheapo then one of our own. People have to realize that we have a much better product then those other guys, yet people don't listen. People say "They brought it on themselves" No they didn't! We could not compete with the Japanese and Korean cars! They were just sold too cheap! THE DAMN CHEAP IMPORTS RAN THEM OUT! PEOPLE ARE NOT BUYING U.S CARS! That's why! My dad has a 2007 F-150. That's all he's bought. Grandpa had a 65', a 74', and a 84', which is all he drives. Dad's had a 78', 89', a 94' and a 2000. Mom's got a Taurus. All my family's bought are Ford Products. I'll be dirivng a 1994 Sable to school! None of the cars mentioned have had any problems. Not 1. People need to buy our cars instead of the junk the Japanese sell. This is our biggest industry guys. Imagine the ripple effect this would have on our economy. 3,000,000 + jobs, worldwide loss. We can't let the Big 3 fail. If they fail, the U.S will fail as well.

I think the oil industry should finance their bailout. They're always raking in billions of dollars in profits on a quarterly basis. The concept that the price of gasoline has gone down because people's driving habits have decreased is BS. They've just been gouging us all this time and since things are getting so bad with the US economy and banks are failing they're easing up on gas prices slowly just like a criminal tippy-toes away from a crime.

I think the point that they showed up this time via car instead of a jet is absolutely ridiculous! They only did it because they were reamed about it previously. It defeated the purpose, because it was so damn fake.

I guess what pisses me off about the whole thing is that there are millions of small businesses out there that need help too. Where is it? It is the same principal as the big 3, just on a minute scale. What's fair for one is fair for all.

I say no bail out, tough crap just like everyone else.

I am going to try and keep this simple and to the point because I could write a lot on this.

At first I was like everyone else saying how dare the auto execs fly out their, each in their own corporate jet. I was happy that Congress told them that they had to have a plan before they got any money. Then I thought about Congress...

Here is the biggest body of losers who cannot manage our tax dollars, run up huge deficits, waste money on pork projects, get paid more than they are worth, and tell the auto makers to come up with a plan. The auto industry is just a microcosm of our federal government. If I were an auto exec I would have pointed out this double standard, and asked these bozo's what their plan was besides saddling the taxpayers with a $700+billion dollar writeoff.

I would love if we had the ability to tell the IRS that they will get our tax dollars when Congress comes up with a plan to spend within their means.

That is a very mis-informed remark. I work in the oil industry, and see both sides. I would explain here, but I would be typing for a long long time, and don't feel like getting in an argument in an internet forum. It would be easier to call me on the phone and I could explain, and honestly change your entire vision of how your seeing things. Cut back on the CNN and other media,.. they will only make you look stupid (not trying to be disrepectful towards you, just saying in general)

It all comes down to mis-managment. No one has anyone else to blame, but themselves. If you get in trouble with taking out to big of loans, file for bankruptcy, thats the american way.

Believe it or not, but less than 4% of the saleprice of a car is the wage. It's not the CAW, or UAW, it's these golden parachutes at the top of the ladder.
I'm getting sick of people blaming it on the Union, sure, I strongly believe that a line worker SHOULD NOT recieve the money they get, 25+ dollars an hour is ridiculous, and I know this, I live in an Auto city, Windsor, Ontario.

If this bail out doesn't go through, I will be unemployed. Whatever goes on in your congress also reflects the Canadians, don't forget about us.

On the issue of what brand Americans are buying, If you buy a Toyota, your still supporting General Motors, If you buy a Mazda, your still supporting FoMoCo, If you buy a Mitsubishi, your still supporting Chrysler. If you buy certain Nissans, your supporting American familys in the midwest. Its a global economy. What we do dosent just affect us, it will affect the world too.
I don't know what the right choice is, I havent been allive long enough.
