2010 Mustang

Did anyone see the hour long show on Speed channel tonight? Breifly, it's just a face-lift to the current gen Stang with no updates on powertrains or rear end options. For me, the rear section seems to be the worst part of the changes. I do not like the "tapered" look of the taillights. I like the other changes pretty much, but that butt end looks a bit, I dunno, saggy......

I HATE that rear end and bumper design. Looks like a god damn ford focus or something, not a Mustang. Not impressed with the changes, I like the current model better.

Love the new car. Looks fantastic. The Camaro looks like it's from a cartoon to me. By the way, if you had wanted Ford to wait a year for this restyle, you could get the new engines. Ford isn't like Toyota was with their Tundra. They wait until a motor is ready to release it. Ford will have an all new lineup of engines for 2011. Many are waiting, but some won't care and will buy the 2010 instead.

As I recall, a lot of people moaned about the current model when it came out too. Then, people saw it in person and liked it. What I've found is that most people who razz on the Mustang never would buy one anyway. Polarizing designs are good for Ford and anybody else who has the balls to do them.

Actually, I am a pretty big fan of the current model and if I had a choice, I would go for an '09 over a '10. I do like the front end on the new one, just wished they didn't go with that taillight design. I dunno, they said that a platform update was comming soon as well, possibly 2012?

Initially, the taillights looked weird to me as well. Then I saw how they fit into the design more and more, and I liked them. The whole car looks tidier.

Heck yeah! I really like this. I know It's mostly a cosmetic change to the front and rear, but it really speaks to me about the way the 70' looked, and thats my most favorite Mustang ever.

the above photo was a design study - done in italy by a turin design studio by the name Giugiaro. it by no way showes any reflection towards fords planned design for the mustang -

we do have a shelby version in our shop as we speak - if you like the new 2010 ... you will love the shelby ...... if you hate it ..... your hate will grow - reguardless take my word for it .... its fast .....

dogboy mentioned a new platform in 2012 - answer is yes but knowing what i know dont count on it being 2012 due to fords "issues" - expect it to be pushed

two things..... i dig the signs lol and i HATE that mustang, the taillights are ugly, the exhuast tips make it look like it has down syndrome and the roof is GLASS of all things GLASSSSS!!!!!! that thing would never last where i live in the middle of the sticks. justa personial opinion but i think its a WAAAAAAY drop from the current mustangs

I agree with Jake Ryan, that car in that pic is an ugly concept of what they were going to do with the Mustang, built by some Italian designer. The real 2010 Mustang is in the new issue of HotRod magazine and it looks completely awesome!

I did start the thread on the actual 2010 mustang, not the Italian design. I like everything about it except for the taillights/upper rear design. It reminds me of the back end of the Gran Turismo standard Mitsubishi FTO. If you don't remember that car, try and go back to GT1 or 2 and check it out from behind.

I saw the car in person at detrioit a couple weeks back the thing is hidious! its not retro at all! the tailights look just horendous but work cool mercury cougar style, the front is ok i guess but they could have done way better, the shelby has a bigger motor, the interior got a lot more retro!(love that part!), overall the car is a rewally big dissapointment compared to the 05 mustang debut except for the free hot wheels car everyone got lol

Agreed. '10 Interior > '05 Interior, '05 Body > '10 Body

EDIT: Just found http://www.fordvehicles.com/the2010mustang/ and the stupid looking glass roof isn't apparently just from the concept.
