Post your OWN, old Motor City Online pics here. Dont post stuff that you found on google, just cool screenies you still have around.
Ill start it off by a pic from the first day that the Hazzard map was online. I was driving the boss 302 or Mach1, not sure which it was, with the tags that says "MONSTER" It was right after they started up where you could add logos to your cars for your clubs, and ours was called the "Quarter Mile Monsters"

Next up was my car that was skinned. Actually I dont remember the name of the guy who I commisioned to make it... damn Im losing my mind. Anyhow, he made it for me, then when you could submit skins, it was one of the first ones chosen. Im going to add it to my sig like in the old days.

Thats one thing I never did, and wish I would of.. take pics of my cars. I had somewhere pics of the first wheelies ever posted. It was my 32 highboy on the sewer map. Me and a buddy stayed there for a long time until I got the front wheels off the ground. I cant find them though, so I must of deleted them.

Here's where me and the boys from Team Methane used to hang out. The good ol' pawn shop.
I have an online photo album of mco screens, so there's lots to reminisce about - game stat screens - see the names of old friends in 'em. There's screen shots in race, action shots, stills, et al. Some are mine, some are shots I found on the net, just sort of mashed them all together for something to remember mco by.
Here's a link to my photo album with a few choice shots of me and my team methane crew mates. http://www.motorworldonline.net/forum/album.php?albumid=11

is it just me or did they like not fully complete the tires? i never noticed it till now when i saw some screen shots
DevilMan

They were complete tires on my comuter. Might of been Hellsbelle video card, or settings in game that gave it all low detail. I noticed that as well, and also everything not being as smooth and rounded as it was on my screen. Then again, Ive always tried to have a higher end gaming machine because I like to play with all settings all the way up.

Its LOD/Detail settings. I've noticed threw out the years all NFS games do this if you have the detail settings turned down to low or medium.

i wounder why EA hasent deleted it, maybe they dont want to completely forget about the game, if they kept those pictures im sure they kept the game code but o well its way outdated now lol

I had a cruddy video card and a cruddier dialup connection back then so my graphics were archaic. I had fun though!

Of course they still have the code, the basic engine was used in games from NFS PU till Underground.
Unfortunately, its proprietary.
I'm sure theres a reason for keeping the stuff. Theres alot of other stuff from games that no longer exists there too.

I am quite sure, that that FTP folder is Cadillac's Personal section. It has Cadillacs Avatar in there as well.
It is also still used by Game review websites as well.

should of done a hyperlink instead of insert image , o well .
It was prlly more like what someone said earlier about towards the end, EA prlly had one guy watching the servers . The guy that gets the coffee was prlly sitting alone in a server bank rofling when the clock struck 12 or 7 gmt as the screenie shows

Exactly what is stopping EA from re-releasing MCO? The engine isn't used in any up to the minute games, as they changed the engine with the release of Carbon. Or was it ProStreet that finally killed the last remnants of the MCO engine?
Either way, EA could probably make a shedload of money if they used an up-rated Underground 2 gameplay style, with MCO underpinnings. Switch the Skyline for a corvette, the 350Z for a Camaro , the Supra for a GTO, the RX-7 for a Charger, the Rx-8 for a Challenger, etc. And espcially polish the soundtrack to the style. No electro-club nonsense. Just guitar riffs.

EA wants to sell games you play once and go buy a new one. Not one people would want to play til infinity. We want one rich game, they want money. MCO and moneymaking are incompatible in EA's eyes.
That's why we're working on MWO!

The mmo for car enthusiasts is pretty much non existent , except for a few ricer style f2p ones so mco wont have any competition, and from the time of mco when u had a small selection of mmos like everquest 2 not many ppl played online. Now everybody and their mom and grandma play online and there should be a good following for mwo just from ex mcoers and auto enthusiasts when it starts. With some advertisement this game should be very big within the year of it being released. Like other ppl in the forums id be glad to pay a server fee or a monthly fee to play this game , understanding this is not to turn a profit in anyway but its the least we could do to be able to play the game weve all been waiting for

It amazes me that no one has thought of attaching a mmo game to the car culture through huge syndicated magazines like "Hot Rod". There is a fortune to be made creating a game atmosphere around the magazine title. You could run several games with the same engine, in a variety of era's from 50s and 60s to 70s and 80s or modern era. Throw in Euro culture, japan, australia and so on. Charge a monthly subscription to play. Like Gravearby says, everyone and their mom and grandma plays video games now. Scores of people who may never be able to afford their dream car in r/l could have a car collection in-game. It could have appeal to a lot of people and literally double subscription for the "hard copy" industry which is failing due to the internet.

And the $10 monthly fee they took from each of us wasn't enough for them to make money?
Greedy bastards.

RW, correct me if I'm wrong, but the only title I remember seeing with Chevycraft (I mean Carcraft) being in any kind of sponsor-role was the Burnout-Championship Drag-racing game. I've seen other drag-racing games made in conjuction with different racing leagues but no 'big-name' sponsors attached to them. now that you mention it, I always wondered why some of these magazines never sponsor or endorse any of these games. mind you, nowadays with the proliferation of electronic media transfer, as you can imagine print media is taking a BIG hit...

hotrod did the burnout drag game, and they also have some other drag racing games, but they used a value company to make the game
