I remember making these back in the day for MCO. Ill have to dig around, but Im pretty sure I dont have mine anywhere anymore. This is a cool idea Id forgot about, and would be cool to do these for MWO as well.

Cool idea, you could even put classes on it like in Canada where a class 5 allows you to drive cars, a class 6 is motorcycles etc. It could change with more exp you have in game which would open more tracks and cars.

Good idea, but IP addy's are more often then not dynamic. Most people don't spend the extra money for static IP's. That would also bring up another problem with networks, like a college for instance. As a network works you would end up blocking all the users in the network block assigned to the IP that you are blocking.

Best way to do it is to block by email address. Specially if it's an owned name server (like mine is phrozin-tt. I can have upwards of 250,000 email addys on any one of my servers, so you would end up blocking all addresses from phrozin-tt with a wildcard like *@phrozin-tt. Then in the case of something like Yahoo you would just block the sole email account.)

or an even better way of doing it would be to have a script (php/asp any server side script) generate a reg code of 25 characters or so based upon user name, email addy, and IP. This would then give you the framework for having that same script do a check against the email address for bans and reg codes already given out. If a ban is detected then a code is not generated and instead an email address is shown that they could email to resolve the problem, if a previous code exists they could then attempt to retrieve the username and password (for people returning after long periods of time) using a security question vs security answer they make on sign-up.

The only thing about banning a ip is the other people that will want to play then there accounts would be ban too i know my brothers are waiting and i am and we have 1 computer see that would take us all down cause one of my brothers are dorkS! lol love the idea tho now ban a account im all for it. i love the fact that we could have one !!!

OK like i said before geat idea even make think of another one reamber when we was talkign about letting rooks fight the top dogs and the top dogs will just over power them well how about u have to get a a class a b c d .ect lic to be able to race those kind of people u have to take a test for the noobie to race for pinks if u pass the test then for the class u can race for that class it like im not gonna take a pro on if im in class d lol just a idea!

Yeah, I like bluepits idea about the testing for classes of drivers license to be able to race other people with the same licenses for pinks, but for other stuff I think we should all be able to race each other.
