wow,,, wheres mine? I NEED that engine for my Fairlane, 13-20 just isn't cutting it hehe :D
And just how long will the gas moguls allow that to exist before they take it off the market, can't be losing investor profits now, can we.

He said "I could have sold this [technology] off, but then people might not have seen it."
That statement from what I understand could be true. Ive heard several stories of guys designing a carburator, or engine that would run on nothing but water, or pertroleum based stuff and get super good gas mileage. Then one of the big car companies finds out,.. pays them off and never does anything with the technology. Those could be rumors, but ya never know.
I don't think the car companys would have a lot to lose with this technology, just a bit of time and $$ to ramp up to the specs. It's the gas giants who have a lot to lose. (and good for 'em. They have to stop thinking of quick profits for just a moment and put their bucks behind a different horse, or they will be out of the race, for good. (That goes for investors, too))
A good example I can think of is coach builders. The companys (ie: Fisher(sp?)) that saw what the automobile would become, stayed in business for many years after the demise of the horse as a primary means of transport, those that thought cars were just a fad, and still built coaches designed to be hauled by horses fell by the wayside, eventually.
In the (maybe not too distant?) future, there may still be a need for gasoline to run a few specialty vehicles, like show/classic cars, but eventually, some form of propulsion will come to bear that will be cheaper and easier to produce.
The current situation should be another wake up call to inventors and investors to come up with a replacement for gas, but just like last time, and all the times before, things will change, gas will be "cheap" again and all will be forgotten.....until next time, then we start all over again.:hmpf:
Sorry for the rant. (Well maybe not) ;)

yea car companys would actually benifit from this....for instance if chevy was to buy the "technology" and apply it to there vehicles are you gonna buy the 110mpg silverado or the 13 mpg ram or f150, althought the government would be losing WAAAAAAY too mutch money if something like that was to be applied, ya gotta remember folks its all in government hands and they are happy wit 3 and a half bucks a gallon they get to tax it as well as sell it

I've heard of stuff like this. I think it was in an Autoweek or CNN news or something. Some guy had developed a motor that ran lean all the time. Only problem was the motor wouldn't last more than 30k-40k miles before it died.
When I did my tour of duty in the Marines our military diesel hummers ran on water. Not literally but it was a pretty sophisticated system.

I think it is such a huge increase in Mpg. that it's pretty much unbelievable:rolleyes:. If this was introduced into the market what would stop the big fuel mongers  from just raising the price of gas to 30$ a gallon?:tomato:
On a side note, gas around here in Cincinnati is down to under 2$ a gallon!!!! I love it!! Actually I invested in three 5gallon gas cans and stocked up a little.:fight::fight:LOL

110mpg... I don't believe it for a second... First off, if it won the $10 million award by some car insurance company, it wouldn't just be shown on local news... And the claim that it has 400 HP along side that...
C'mon!
No vehicle, new or old goes very far on a gallon of gas if the HP rating is greater than 280 HP.
Now since we are talking about gas mileage, I just want to point out that most Muscle Cars with small block v8's have a great base for semi-fuel efficient vehicles.
My 74 Chevelle with the original 400 2bbl engine got 22 MPG highway when I invested about $500 in simple parts. Such as an MSD ignition box, Dual Exhaust system...

I believe that 100% and why not, if you had a couple billion dollars, and had something that made you a billion dollars a day, and some guy had something that would rune your empire, id cut him in on some pie too, and you know what i think, those that dont sell, probably get picked off by the big mans assassins. thats probably cheaper then paying the guy off anyways, i think its rediculous at any price for 2 reasons, 1. we are against monopolys, and if that isn't one, by then i dunno what is, and 2. why is it, that one gas station is $X.99 a gallon, and 4 miles down the road its $X.89 that is bullcrap, it all comes from the same place and if it were up to me, if it is all in the same state, it would all be the same price, regardless of placement or demand, *sigh* i'd go on for hours :(
