Achievements II: ideas

Some people want difficult (alien) achievements, some don't care, some want achievable achievements.
Well, here's your chance to help out. Start inventing some you'd like to see, and describe them here. Then, if Ken adds achievements to the game, we can blame you when we can't reach them. :fight:
What kind of rewards would you like to see for these achievements? :questionmark:

One idea for a "reward" would be some kind of decal or similar that you could, if you so desired, put on your car(s).

-own all the variants of one car, (IE a mustang)
-get a top speed of at least (speed) mph/kph in a race or drag
-do a pink slip race and win but give the car back that you won (be a good sport award)
-do a custom paintjob
-get a famous car (KITT, General Lee, kuwalski challenger)
-engine swap achievement
-do a turf war and win and distribute your winnings amongst club members
-trade parts among 3 or more club members
-race on all tracks at least once
-big crash in a race achievement
-own all the cars
-start a race with 4 or more different people each from a different club
-build a car filled with in game sponsors
-report a cheater achievement
-build a car for someone else
-build a car and pass it around to your club mates award
-build a car for a new player
-hold the top record times on more than 5 different tracks
-race someone from a different country than you
-hold a burnout longer than (insert time here)
-do a skid (insert length here) long
-drift for more than (insert time)

and here are some more

-catch some air and hangtime for X amount of seconds
-arrive at a gas station on empty (for free roam mode)
-do less than $100 damage to your vehicle in a race
-do absolutely no damage to your car in a race
-do a barrel roll or spin off of a small jump
-drive forward in reverse while your in first place
-drive forward in reverse and pass someone
-cause somebody to use a shortcut
-fly over another person's vehicle off a ramp
-own all the celebrity cars
-help a car club member to win a race (not in a turf war)
-when off a ramp, land your car backwards and then drive in reverse

Well, now, I like that idea.

Easy: small reward.
What bowtie suggested, a decal or sticker. Maybe a small bonus.(1 - 9 % of cash earned on that race)
Normal: Medium reward.
Maybe access to certain parts, slightly larger bonus (10 - 15 %)
Hard: Large reward.
Increased % of finding rare parts/cars. Again, bigger bonus ( 20 - 40% )
Alien: Massive reward.
Big bonus bucks (set amount) + higher % of locating rares. (50% + )

Just my suggestions, can be ignored. :ciao:

that would be good, nobody wouldn't mind that. that sorta makes you want to be a better driver, i guess.

Getting fresh ideas and suggestions is why I asked everyones opinion. I appreciate everyone's input here, and won't ignore any of them.
Trying to think up a bunch of cool/original rewards would be tough. Asking the whole community for ideas, and having a mass of ideas to choose from... priceless. We're building a game for everyone so why not ask for everyone's opinions and suggestions when we can!

How about a "Meet Your Maker" achievement like in Guitar Hero... beat one of the developers at their own game.

Maybe some kind of bonus for holding the most wins at a track, something that could repeat weekly, for all tracks?:ciao:

The problem with achievements like that is it kills off racing on any other tracks. People will keep racing the one they know best over and over 24/7.
I've had a few ideas for fairly simple ones.

In The Pink
Win 25 races in cars won from other players.

Key Party
Give someone a car and take nothing in exchange.

My Way IS The Highway
Earn a lap record on every track. This one might be too hard and could frustrate achievement whores.

Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads
Win a race having spent more time off the track than on it.

The Beat-me Generation
Win one race in every car from the 1950s.

Turn On, Tune Up, Drop Shift
Win one race in every car from the 1960s.

Swing When You're Winning
Win one race in every car from the 1970s.

There's probably more puns I could use, but the 80s has so many awesome cult things it's hard to choose just one!

Night Rider
Win a night-time race in a 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am. Speaking of the 80s I couldn't resist!

Hazzard Warning
Execute a perfect landing after a jump and go on to win the race in a 1969 Dodge Charger.

Reach For The Starsky
Start a race in last place and win using a 1970 Ford Torino.

Gimme Fuel, Gimme Fire Is that a copyright infringement? Name might need altered slightly.
Win a race with no fuel left in your tank.

Running on Empty
Complete a race after running the last quarter mile with no fuel.

These two are similar but I think if someone's out of fuel they deserve credit for just finishing!

Oi, Veyron
Build a modified car with over 1000hp No idea if that's even going to be possible with the game parts.

Drag King
Win a drag race with the least powerful car on the track.

Life's a Drag
Win 100 drag races.

Pushing the City Limits
Win 25 races on city street circuits.

No Country for Old Men More copyright problems?
Win 25 races on countryside tracks.

Getting Dizzy
Win 25 races on oval circuits.

Unbeatable!
Win 10 consecutive online races.

Unstoppable!
Win 25 consecutive online races.

Now we get to the silly ones...

Unbelievable!
Win 50 consecutive online races.

ZOMG T3H HAXX0RZ!!1
Win 100 consecutive online races.

There's likely to be a problem with these ones. Again the achievement whores might get frustrated or people might end up resorting to cheating or bribing other people to lose the races against them. Might work better as a secret achievement rather than one that's written down.

Bid War Veteran
Win an auction item that has had at least 25 other bids placed.

Faster than a Speeding Bullitt Copyright, blah blah blah
Win a race in a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback with less than a 2 second lead.

Oh, I forgot to ask, could you elaborate more on what you mean by earn a track record on every track? Is this an "all-time" record, or just under a statically defined track time? I assume you mean the latter, because the former would be easy for the first person, but get harder and harder each time someone beats it.

The problem with achievements like that is it kills off racing on any other tracks. People will keep racing the one they know best over and over 24/7.

Wow, a lot of great ideas. I think as long as achievements and their associated "rewards" are made in a way that they don't give you an advantage, IE - just a different title or sticker or some kind of custom paint job as a reward, than it shouldn't be a problem with a few tracks getting run and others not.

You can even make it where a few achievements rotate every week to different tracks. Or make some of the harder ones include doing something specific at X number of tracks. This would also give the devs a chance to make sure any tracks that may be getting run less for whatever reason, are included.

Personally I'd like to see weekly leaderboards, for all to see who's in the top ten on a given track and power class weekly. Then have monthly stats, for an overall who's the top 5 in a month. At the end of the year have a huge achievement award for who's got the top time overall for each track in each power class.

I like the idea for title ranks that give really good fluff rewards . Like earn the drag king achievement will in turn reward you with the drag king title and maybe a drag king decal . Maybe having higher title rank players name stand out in a different color in the chat screens or something similar .

Sorry, not had the chance to visit for a while.

When I wrote it I was imagining just the target time set by the developers. Seems a lot fairer on everyone since if it was player-set eventually you'd get to a point when the time was physically unbeatable.

8 yrs later on ipl racing (porsche unleashed) there's still people squeaking 1/100ths of a second better times on tracks. Without hacks. I like the idea of an all-time hall of fame.

Last man standing award. The top driver gets in the HoF. Of course, this would be awarded after MWO sunsets. :laugh:
