I hadnt played for a long time and I started again Christmas day. Took a Paladin from 1-70 in a month or so.
They made 20-60 a lot easier, made the drops in instances better, reduced the XP required to level and increased the quest xp. A lot of other changes too, I cant remember all of them.

I used to play WoW. Had a lvl 50-something night elf hunter and made a decent amount of money farming for leathers and merchanting.
I'm ok though, been clean for a year and four months.

Well I do know gaming is frowned upon by a lot of people, I am not sure why to tell the truth, it's probably a mix of different reasons.
I always loved my games but I suppose it's because I grew up with them, I remember all the first games, I remember penny arcades! Man I have been button mashing all my life and I will probably be button mashing when I'm 70, god willing.
I can understand where gaming could hurt someone if they did it in excess, to me it has always been a hobby, get home from work, play a game. On the weekends gather with friends and put 10$ on a game of Madden (Damn EA). But anything done in excess is bad, even "good" for you things.

I tried to play WoW after the beloved SWG went to the NGE. Got to about lvl50 something with an NE Combat Rogue but it just got boring. The game to me is about diverse as the game my niece played. Which was Runescape. The bashing that comes along with it is horrible too. I would be grinding out the last bit of xp for a lvl and poof here comes about 7 Lvl ??'s to a lvl30-40 zone wiping out all NPC's and players they come in contact with. WTF Is the point in that? Theres no skill in overpowering something/one.
Is why now im waiting on the SWGEmu team to bring back the Pre-CU version of Star Wars Galaxies. But while both teams MWO and SWGEmu bring back much wanted games ill just do testing for both as much as i can i guess. Also maybe tryout BioWares SW:ToR when it drops live.
But yeah gaming can hurt lives in numerous ways. But then again so can drinking. But when was the last time you saw an internet thing saying anything about all the people that goto bars on a night before work and come in hung over? Most of the articles about gaming are done by people that have never truly been apart of a great gaming community. Or felt how it is to actually do something in a game that is hard as hell. Or came in 2nd in a Madden 09 Tourney to the guy that eventually wins $100k for playing a football game. Yes I came in second to the same guy that won the Madden Tourney you see on ESPN lol. Right here in Las Vegas. We played down to the wire. But I just think he had an off day when he played me.
