EA has announced a division of games called Play4Free. where the title of it explains PLAY 4 FREE!

basically they are going to make free versions of all their popular games (EA land problably included) but put advertisments and small microtransaction items (in game items less than $5) in their games and game websites. All this games will be PC friendly with low PC specs and really really screwy graphics.

The first game for play4free is a new Battlefield game called Battlefield Heroes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlefield_Heroes) which will be out this summer. Some of us may have talked about this before.

I'm all up for playing this game.

now if they make a Need for speed game for play4free, i will most certainly be ticked off, that goes for The Sims as well.

Oh dear God, please do not let anyone associate this buisiness model with MCO or any other good racing game for that matter. I CAN'T AFFORD IT !
I can handle running around on a cartoony world killing people with just the basic gun, no problemo . Maybe 1 or 2 upgrades but I would need to really enjoy the game before I spent even as much as I would to buy a normal game.
But how do I resist that cool set of rims for only 500 credits, or the chopped body with a custom paint job for just 2500 credits. Then there would be the massive list of performance parts and with continuing updates and new parts it would become an endless cycle.Of course EA would follow Project Torque and make the most desirable parts "cash only".
If MCO had been on this model I would be homeless and typing this on a stolen laptop while camping out behind a starbucks for the wireless....
This new "Play for free" (but pay through the nose for the cool stuff) game model concerns me. I guess it's possible that the big gaming companies like EA etc. might play fair and offer real value for the in game purchases.... However, I'm reminded of a recent cartoon at Penny Arcade. (reporter)"We're concerned you're just going to nickel and dime the players." (exec) "Well technically were already 60 dollaring and 10 dollaring them, but yeah, you get the idea."

well , that's my 2 cents anyway.

p.s. I will second any motion for the immediate return of MCO. If this does not come to pass I do have a plan B, and it's just 400 and some odd days till sunrise.

I know this sounds stupid, but can't you see EA doing something like that (just to try and throw a stick in our spokes)? oh, well, let 'em try and derail this game (they can pry my controller from my cold dead fingers). :rolleyes:

Id like to see the return as well, but started over. I gave away all my cars and money before I left (like a month before the last day, I couldnt stomach sticking around anymore because I was so sick it was going away). The only cars I kept was 1 of the 6 Choptop Devil nomads (like the one in my sig) that were on Midtown. There could of been more, but I never found them,.. I tried to snatch them all up,. but I did keep number the first one.

Hahaha nice. I wouldent need money to start MCO again. Just to have that feeling of sighning in again is all I need. I miss it so much!
