Let me know what you guys think for standard controls, obviously these are changeable but I'd like to field you guys to see if this would be a good overall default setting. This is straight from our design document.

Looks good. 360 controller? Interesting...

to be honest, they are great but for a 360 controller, I never liked gas and brake being the trigger or bumper buttons.

curse my palsy.

3 and 9 on the keypad should be shifting...

3 is shift down 9 is shift up

and whats the control for the regular breaking on the keyboard is it supposed to be S?

That looks like a good setup for the keyboard. With the controller I don't think it matters, people are just going to reset it the way that they like on whatever controller they use. I personally have a custom setup on my PS3 controller.

They are always reconfigurable :)

Regular breaking on the keyboard would be S or Down Arrow yes. After you are at a complete stop it automatically shifts to reverse for automatic transmissions, then automatically back into first gear after pressing W or Up key.

I never play with the keyboard so no need to comment...

As far as the 360 controller it seems like a very good setup, although i would swith the shift up & down buttons...but i have that "left to right" mentallity...u go left numbers decrease...u got right they increase...

But it really doesnt matter since they r customizable

I've used a 360 controller for as many things as I can, since I first tried them. I've only tried using a wheel once (less than satisfactory experience). while I like using the 360, some people don't. I've always thought that the brake and throttle should be progressive, as opposed to ON-or-OFF type switches because in real life your throttle and brake are progressive.
I like the first effort Ken.

They look good to me but I'll be using my momo wheel.

I gotta agree with using the wheel. Last time around I stuggled a bit keeping up with a controller. Once I went to a wheel I had to change out all of my old handling set ups though. lol

I'll be using the ol' momo too. Not a fan of console controller and racing games, personally.

Still got the G25, so I'm good.

Just an idea here, but how about the keypad shifting replicates what the actual shift pattern is for the car? ie. a three speed column shift is an "H" pattern with 7 being first gear, 1 being second gear, and 8 being third, with 2 being reverse?

I always used A to shift up, and Z to downshift, space bar is E break and arrows keys for direction... always work best for me, def gonna check out that xbox controller if i dont get the wheel out : )

I agree with the shift buttons being reversed on the 360 controller, right feels like it should be up to me. I will need to get a wheel when this game is ready to go though!

Assuming I can give input...

I like:
(A) for E brake
(B) NOS
(X) Up Shift
(Y) Down Shift
(3) Look Behind
(4) Change Camera

I'll pony up for the wheel myself. My old wheel used a db15 connector so needless to say,I'll need to shop for one.

What your computer doesn't have a DB15 connector? Must be fancy! ;) jk I would love to have a G25 or G27

I'll probably pick a wheel on E-bay. I think I have enough parts(I'll have to pick up a seat) to mod it into a sort of simulator ie real pedals,a Grant Gt rim(have to dig that out of storage). Have an old B&M ratchet around here somewhere.

They look good to me but I'll be using my momo wheel.

Same here.

I used to play MCO with a Joystick.. because there was absolutely no way I could even win a race using keyboard... MCO had some pretty dodgy car handeling from what I remember

Hey guys, just wondering will there be support for multiple controllers at once? I'm getting a logitech dfgt but will be running my g25 pedals via usb adapter cable.

I remember playing MCO with just the keyboard, man some of the races kept me on the edge of my seat...lol Now i would prefer to NOT have to buy a 360 style controller for my PC. Any chance of other type support? I am using a Saitek cyborg atm and love it.

I used to play MCO with a Microsoft Sidewinder FFB Wheel. Man, that was fun. Now I have a Fanatec Porsche wheel just itching to play this game. Can't wait!
