Gas prices are getting so stupid I figured it's time to buy a gas miser before their pricing goes through the roof too. I've been kicking tires for a month or so now, test drove a couple of different ones, and last week I found one I could live with. It's a 2005 Cobalt, 2.2, 5 spd, great gas mileage and a price I could afford.

Well for a modern US car it looks ok to me (especially compared to some modern european/asian designs). Hope you enjoy the car even if it only has half a V8 (in my book that's a inline-4 not a V4 due to the inline-4's natural torque characteristic compared to 3/5/6-cylinder inlines of the same volume). A manual transmission will also help both fuel economy and driver enjoyment in my humble opinion. And a manual clutch is especially useful if you drive where it can snow and freeze.
Speaking of fuel-prices then I don't know if it can make people feel better about living in North-America but here's the price of RON 95 unleaded gasoline at the local Shell station: 11.28 DKK/L which with todays currency rate equals: 8.85 USD/us gallon. Ok fuel-quality here is pretty high compared to what I've heard about US fuels but still. Diesel was just 0.02 DKK/L, RON 98 octane was much more and Shell V-Power even more. My brother is so lucky his new 2008 Yamaha YBR125I motorcycle does 45km/l (106 mpg us) and uses 92 octane fuel.

If you want to change the color on an image (and you're using Photoshop), change the color mode to multiply or overlay - you replace the color without losing the highlights and shadows.

All I care is that it has cut my gas consumption in half and it's cute and it says Chevrolet on the outside. I bought the 3 yr warrantee bumper to bumper so let it break, I get a rental when it does.
I kinda like that tie-dye look Rollout.... do I gotta park it in one of them spinny thingys to get it painted like that?

Thats because its an Opel, not a US designed car. :p

I had a 74 Opel years ago - it was a sporty little car!

Thats because its an Opel, not a US designed car. :pHuh!? Not the body-design that's for sure, I'm very good at recognizing car-details even from a distance and I've never seen one of those here. The 80s Pontiac LeMans that was a last-gen Opel Kadett (designation Kadett E), which btw was replaced by the Astra, and the current model of that is now going to be sold as a Saturn in USA. And while on the subject of brand-swapping then in Europe all Daewoo models carry Chevrolet logos. The 2.2 engine might be derived from the european Opel Ecotec 2.2 however, like Ford used to use the european Zetec/Zetec-E engines and europe used the US Duratec 2.5 V6, although now they so-called Duratec engines are actually Mazda MZR units, including the 2.3 PZEV Focus engine. I think the V6s are still derivatives of the Duratec but I'm not sure.
Vic: A sporty 70s Opel, was that a Manta or the mini- Stingray simply known as the Opel GT 1900? The european version of the Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice btw is simply known as the Opel GT and basically looks identical to the Sky.

The body design is of a popular Daewoo, on an Opel Delta platform. All GM does is change the bumper covers front and rear and rebadge them as Cobalts.
The same goes for the Aveo. Its a Daewoo Kalos that the grille and badges are changed to Chevy. Its also known as the Suzuki Swift, Pontiac Wave, Holden Barina and Chevy Kalos.

That's a nice looking Cobalt. I hope you enjoy it and are able to keep some of your money in your pockets and out of the oil companies' hands. On a side note if any of you have ever heard about it you can buy a diesel car/truck and use vegetable oil as fuel, you're supposed to warm it up first though.

Frank: it was the stingray lookin' GT, midnight blue with a black vinyl top, and a blue velour interior.
I would be enjoying my new car a lot more if it was running... yes disaster struck day 2. I saw a puddle under it, and took it back to them. They replaced the water pump. Then it overheated. All repairs are on their dime but it looks like a rebuild or replacement engine in the works. The warranty company is looking over the car lots shoulders to make sure it gets fixed right before they take over repair responsibility. So they've given me a 00 Monte Carlo to drive around in until they get mine fixed.
I was thinking about taking them back my old monte instead. Think they'd notice?

 Unless they're really :stupid: I think they would notice.
You could always tell them: "Well I did bring back a Monte, didn't I?"
