and maaaaan oh man does it sound sweet now. I just wish the roads were nice enough to take him for a drive. Been parked since Nov 9, possibly be able to drive again by end of March... sigh...
But I got my new CAI installed!

It sounds fabulous! Nice sharp rap when you step on the accelerator. It's supposed to add a few hp too. I listened to Injen, K&N, and Airraid clips too, but liked the sound of the Roto-Fab.
Next mod is getting the engine cover painted :)

Looks sweet RW! I need to do that to my truck. How does the factory handle warrenties with mods?

What color you painting the cover?

If the defect has a direct correlation to the problem it can void the warrantee. Say I put a supercharger on it then blow it up, that would not be covered. Giving the poor beastie a wee bit more air won't do that.
Aftermarket long tube exhaust might void the warrantee if you blow the engine up, drag slicks might void a blown rear end, and so on.

Awesome :D I made my own CAI for my explorer lol. Removed the air regulator valve and swiss cheesed the bottom and sides of my airbox lol.

Looks good, I remember the day that my dad first installed the cold air intake on our marauder. The change in the exhaust note from that one mod alone, is probably the best thing you can do for cheap. Have you thought about getting it tuned (it doesnt void warranty, because with a tuner, you plug it in before you go to the dealership and put the stock tune in as it saves the good tune, and then after that you just put it back in).

There's not a lot of tune for the V6 yet. and it will void warrantee in the v8. Even if you reset it back to original they can tell if you've tweaked it, so... no.
However, that change in the exhaust note is sweeeeet sweeeeet sweeeeet!

I dont think it voids the warranty. With the Marauder thats my dads car, we used to do that all the time, and it never voided our warranty.

Very true lol, but the thing that sucks about ford/mercury warranties is this (its almost as bad as the gm stuff they are doing). The warranty starts the day the car is made, and with my dads marauder its an early prototype (#21), so the 6 year warranty or whatever it was ended something like 6 months before it really should have ended. Either way its a good thing, because it allowed us to install the supercharger last year haha.
