It seems to be a great game, there´s some nice cars to drive and choose (even beaters) and some other cool stuff.
Iv been watching a guy playing the game live, just cant remember the website but it was pretty nice.
Oh, and the damage finally looks good!
I´m looking forward to it, but i will wait the pc version.

Waiting for the PC version as well. I see no reason to buy a PS3 or 360. Maybe one day when I want a blu ray player, but thats going to be a ways down the road.

you are not alone Ken. If what I've read so far is true, those waiting for the PC version will probably be playing MWO before GTA4 on the PC. their original intention was to release the game as a console port only. I'm trying to find any evidence to the contrary but so far I've seen more chickens with eye-teeth. I've got a 360 and so far are counting down the days...:(

They did the same thing with gta-sa.
They said it would be released only for consoles and such, but guess what?!
It came for pc as well..
They have a huge pc modding comunity and it would be stupid to ignore that fact, if you pay attention, many of the "new features" where present on the gta modding scene even before gta 4 was announced.
What they want is to get ppl despaired thinking the only way they could get that game is buying a console, and it works!
When ppl stop buying they can just release the pc version and make a few extra bucks.
I'm pretty sure there will be a PC version, the modding is cool but I have never liked the keyboard controls after getting used to the console.
Hopefully when it does come out for PC the guys over at MultiTheftAuto (www.multitheftauto.com) don't take too much time to get the multi player for it up and running.
I am actually thinking about buying GTA:SA for PC since I lent mine for PS2 out and it came back with a scratched label.

There will be a PC version. Lazlo was on O and A like a week ago, and said that 4 Rockstar studios had been working non-stop just to get the console versions out. They are gonna take a little break and the PC version will come out later. And all have a multiplayer allready this go around.
You wont need multi-theft auto if it comes to the PC, it has multiplayer built in with several different types of play, even free roam chaos. Tell ya guys I can't wait for tomorrow night lol.

Are you on 360 Live? We should play a few games. I have limited time but when I need a stress brake from working on MWO and work, I jump on Xbox. Same name on Live as here.

Lazlo was on O n A yesterday morning again. He said when people started showing up online over in Europe (remember they get the game a day before) that all of the guys in the Rockstar north studio was waiting like hounds to slay all the noobs.... hahaha. So if you find someone online that is just owning everyone, just keep in mind it might be a game designer that has been playing the game for a couple of years allready now. Dont jump to conclusions and start using the "Your a GD HACKER!" lingo. :)
Its an amazing game. Period. lol Haven't had any problems with live though, or freezing up. That might be your xbox getting ready to give you the 3 ROD error, thats what happen to me a few months back when I got Rock Band.

Ive been watching a lot of the youtube videos of gameplay people have been posting. The game looks killer. Rockstar has a huge hit on their hands here I think,.. and now I cant wait until it hits PC. Actually its got me half tempted to get a 360.. especially since Im using my George Bush money on a 50" plasma. ;) I bet I cant talk the wife into letting me get one a 360 just yet.

I've been taking my time with it,I don't want to rush through the storyline too fast like I have done with all the other GTA's. I was a month behind in getting it,have had bad luck with 360's,bought my first one used it gave me the dreaded ring of doom:mad: so I went ahead and bought a brand new one :fight:
I have been thinking I might just get online with it this week
One think that burns my ass is you can't actually use any of the tow trucks :( that was one of my favorite things to do in San Andreas, roll around and find cars to take to that chop shop :trytofly:

i was really disappointed with gta 4 its got good graphics and i like the story it has but thats about it, it cant even hang with gta SA as far as things you can do, in sa you had lowrider shops and regular car shops and you could go lift weights and there were TONS of easter eggs gta 4 has no vehicle shops and there are a select few easter eggs that arent even all that great idk maybe its jus me but i feel it leaves somehting to be desired

To me, GTA 4 was a huge fail. Not much left to it after you finish the story. Bad show Rock Star.
I obviously haven't had time to finish the game myself, think I got up to the bank heist mission. The detail and physics of the game are what did it in for me. It does lack a lot of great stuff from GTA 3: SA but something tells me the next GTA 4: Whatever will be great. I'm hoping for another 80's story myself lol. Have to keep in mind this is a new engine. Just like GTA 3 the original, GTA 4 will grow as new chapters come out. Heck look at Saints Row 2.

yeah, I haven't checked out Saints Row 2 yet, Ken. whats the basic storyline? I think the best thing about GTA-4 was the story: it was a REAL person forced into making yer classic tragic choices to be yer classic tragic hero. I loved SR-1 (saints row-1) because of the map being open and all. it sounds like Call of Duty 5 is going back to WW-2. I could never get into COD-4.

yes, GTA4 is a failure, the game atmosphere is completely stale now in my opinion, sure, they've got people walking around everywhere doing this and that but the invisible 'real' atmospheric feeling is just non-existant, GTA3 delivered it greatly and it has disappeared bit by bit with each consecutive game.
I would love to know the opinion on atmosphere from someone who has only played GTA4, even though most of us now know GTA3 through-and-through, I'm sure that when you all first played it there was a sense of 'anything can happen' and not knowing what you might discover around the next corner.
Being a huge supporter of GTA3 to this day, I was glad to hear they were going to make GTA4 in a manner of what GTA3 was to GTA2, not just a graphical upgrade but a game of a whole new level, unfortunately, they failed forcing me to sell my GTA4 special edition within 3 weeks of purchase, I got a fair way through the game but the characters were forgettable and the lighting sucked, you only ever see cars in their true colour 1/4 of the time, in the rest the car is 80% shaded or a different colour thanks to the bright yellow/orange effect of the lighting.
All the weapons were black and you don't see much detail.
If it weren't for the ability to take a taxi to quickly get somewhere, you'd see a lot more copies in second hand stores, hell, I was considering giving mine away to brighten up the day of someone who couldn't afford it.
One more thing, I'm sure those guys in England who stabbed people for the copies they just bought at midnight have come to realise how badly it wasn't worth it and the error of their ways.

I thought GTA 4 was very nicely done. I also thought the atmosphere really felt like a big city. People were mean when I thought they would be and I actually felt like they had something to do. GTA 3 I didn't really get that feeling as much. It was more like the people were just there to be annoying. Also the physics and damage modeling in GTA 4...... omg it was amazing. I remember I would roll cars off hills and cliffs and into walls just to see what I could cause. I also liked the fact that blowing up Bank Trucks gave you money. I liked to steal them and just go on a car demolishing rampage until it blew up like a cash filled pinata!

I picked this one up this week, and I do like it. I've pretty much just drove around, finding the hookers and strip clubs so far, but the little gameplay I did do, is fun.
I also gave multiplayer a shot tonight and its a lot of fun.
