Gotta love fios, still US broadband is still a mess. Only a few providers, monopolies, low speeds (fios is still slow compared to what you see in some european counties, not to mention japan).

funny thing is, im getting the "slower" connection from charter "cheaper" and connetions is fed by co-axial to modem, then wireless to PC Belkin Reciever, grant it its only 5-10 feet away, but still, eithernet would be a touch faster i suppose, but i aint bitchin' !!!!!! so why is it it is so good, the servers some 100+ miles away, and im getting the "cheap" baud rate, or whatever they sold me, could of gotten some 15 something or another for 15 bux extra a month, but i didnt think i needed that, its not all in the connection for streaming video and stuff. glad i didnt fork over the extra cash now. Net cost me 10 bux a month, plus 29.99 for the extreamly basic cable, and no lease payments for equipment its all mine baby

If there is not a lot of bandwidth traffic in your area, the ISP will let you have some leftovers. I get 24+ mB/s sometimes.

Well, they upgraded the connection first and only after that sent me a letter in mail that they did it. It's funny that I agreed to the upgrade from 2 to 8 just three weeks ago with the promise that the price will stay the same for 12 months. So, now I technically got 24 for the old price of 2mbps ADSL and it's not temporary. They just happened to drop the prices and raise bandwidths at the same time, so that the higher speed class costs the same that the current used to cost. I live in the city and Helsinki is the capital too - assumably plenty of traffic here.

Was a constant 5 bars and it was their G4 service. Have cable broadband now and it is way faster.
