Remember when they stopped MCO to focus on The Sims Online? Did you guys take the free month they offered? If so did you like the game?

I tried the Sims when it came out, but got bored very fast with it. No excitment in the game for me.

ha,
the only reason why this sims is so popular is because nobody has a life who plays it and if you get bored with it, it means you have a life.

I actually ended up playing the game for quite a while as I had nothing else to do. But I eventually quit after everyone on the server had everything there was to buy and money was close to worthless.
The Sims Online is the definition of a game that has nothing to do once you have a decked out character (house in this case lol).
Funny thing is, "Sims" is basically an offshoot of "Simcity" Which I used to play a lot. That got boring after a while too(SC3000), having to sit there and watch you city grow. I did enjoy the original, and 2K, as I could start a city, then minimize the game and let it go on it's own for a while, checking in only to make sure I was'nt kicked out of office, or to change a few things.
I also had "Sim Tower" which was a real blast at times. The big challenge there was trying to keep the elevator system running smoothly. Too bad it won't work on newer setups.
Never got into the sims proper, didn't care for them at all in SC4D.:p

I remember that well,I was beta testing another EA game called Earth & Beyond,it incidentally went the same way as MCO did.I would say that is why I personally boycotted purchasing EA games, being burned twice. I can still remember the hatred everyone had for the "Dims" as was popular nick for Sims, lol. We had a choice to go to Ultima Online too ( I think it was Ultima) I declined both those offers and held onto good ole E&B for as long as i could. It was a fun game.

Well said RW and to this day EA has not got a penny from me for any game since MCO was shut down nor will they ever receive a penny from me.

I remember when I heard about MCO and it was three months before EA shut it down before I had a computer at that time to run it. I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread and I played it as much as I could. (I was in high school at the timeand I even skipped school a couple of days for MCO.) Then my life came crashing down when they told me what was going down. The flippin' Sims Online for MCO?!? They traded one of the few things I had going good in life at the time for some retarded pop culture dribble of living a virtual life. I hated my teen years..
I hated my teen years..
I look back fondly at mine, now.
Hated them at the time though, and some days I wish I was young again, but with the wisdom I have now. And, (showing my age here) we didn't have computers.

Yeah i couldn't believe they would try to replace MCO with Sims, MCO was much better than the Sims, but I admit i did accept the free month. I knew a lot of people wouldn't.

I looked it up the other day because i was curious. Now it is called EA land and u can play for free, but you have to buy money. But you can cash out your sims money for real money. Sounds weird.
Hmmmm. Sims kept my girl friend busy while I played MCO, so thank you for that EA. :-P Ahhh who am I kidding, she left anyway lol. Sims 3 was announced not too long ago, think some of the big "plans" they have is that it will be multiplayer bringing back the sims online as an optional part of it. I don't see any difference visually between sims 2 and 3 though. Must be the money.

I WOULD buy another GOOD game from EA.......Problem is, they HAVEN'T made a GOOD or even 1/2way good game since MCO!:D
Screw the Sims, I hate the Sims, I want to burn the Sims, I want to punch the moron that said it was a good idea to replace a racing game with the Sims. Couldn't they at least replaced it with another type of racing mmo game at least. I have to continue to take crap from the Sims while it laughs at me as my girlfriend loves the Sims games. ARG

ZER, I agree with that. Plus no other game I have played has stacked up to MCO yet.

Do you really think any other game out there, coming out, or being developed will EVER stack up to MCO, with the exception of MWO, only because we as a community with T/A-Ken are all orphans of the greatest racing game in recorded gaming!!!!
Come to think of it, it really wasn't a game was it? It was more of an online virtual realm of hotrodding glory, much like I envision Heaven!
