Duh, why would it be free? If it is free then it isnt gonna even be worth playing. A monthly subscription fee is whats gonna keep this game rockin. These guys are working hard to make it. They deserve something. I'll pay whatever i have to to play this game. If MCO was still around to this day i would still be playing it and paying for it.

I try, Kev. Special girl training they give us in girl school.
Pane - we either make up names for everything and charge ya or we use brand names and keep the game non profit. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Im sorry, did i miss something? So now im assuming the game wont have a monthly fee? Either way it dont matter to me. Sorry for looking the gift horse in the mouth....:)
You see Panekiller, as a hobbyist built game, it is just built for the fun of it, although I am sure building it, at times can be less fun, and not for profit. So since MWO is not making money by using brand names like Ford, Chevy, Edelbrock, Hooker.... and so on, they are not infringing on the copyright of named company.
Now if MWO were to charge $$, then those companies would come after MWO. and since Licensing just one Car, can cost upwards of $50K or more, MWO would just call a Ford Mustang a Frud Stallion, Hooker Headers would be Streetwalker Pipes..... and so on, and sound stupid and cheesy. But if it had to be done, I could live with it.

I didnt realize thats how they were making the game. I thought all the cars and parts were gonna be brand names. But either way it dont matter cause they will still do the same job they are supposed to, just with a cheesy name of some sort.

Well, it's not necessarily going to be that way. ZER was just saying that if, for some reason, they are not going to be able to use the brand names in a non-commercial game, then they would have the alternate names as a last resort.
