I apologize if this question has been asked and addressed, but.....When will this game be up and running? Will it operate similar to Second Life or other free online games (with the ability to pay as well)?

I don't think it's going to have any of that crap where you can buy special items. At least I hope not. That's for arcade games and fantasy MMO's. :puke:

As far as when it'll be up and running, :dontknow: noboy really knows other than the devs and they can only estimate. But hopefully they'll have a little something something to mess around with here pretty soon. :-bd

The game will be completely free, the servers will pay for them selves by allowing advertisements in game. Not annoying pop ups or anything but more or less radio ads and billboards in the game environment. Just like Burnout Paradise. NFS World Online of course has decided to go this route too I believe.

You wont be racing with the Garage Application, it's only a garage so you can mess around with the car features, but I don't think you can race them, unless some sort of test track is added (but I think that'll be something for later on).

Yeah don't go canceling your vacation lol MWO is pretty far out yet. The garage app is just to get on with our skin contests and will be a neat little app to keep up with the current cars and such. It will one day offer an offline practice mode on a test track but its not happening till the actual game physics are complete. If I had to take a wild guess that would be around the end of March start of April. Which also gives us enough time to actually get some of Mad Mikes cars into Taigo's hand for final details then released to you guys.

The system where its free but you have the option of buying a special membership or points to get special treatment/Cars is gay as hell. 1320 legends has it and I really dont play the game because of that very reason if you want a mach1 in the game 2200 points which is over 20 bucks. It makes the game unfair because people can just buy there cars with real cash.If you gonna charge a monthly fee thats fine with me but atleast keep everyone in the game on par with each other.

On another point Ken/Dev team how is the In ads looking? I think where all looking forward to this game and I hate to see it fail or go down because there not enough money to maintain the server Do you think it would be safer to charge a small monthly fee like say 5 bucks to make sure everything goes well?

I havn't touched it in a couple years. They only did it to boost subscriptions but they realized they made more money with the ads than they ever did with the monthly fee of $14.95.

The thing that seems to get forgotten though, Is that Ken and the Dev Team are not in it for the money. They are doing it because they want to. And because it'll look great on their resume's. Heck they might even become a company and make more kick-ass games that they may want to make an income off of. If that happens, Can I be the mail clerk? :p

I have no problem with the in game ads and I hope they work Im just saying why not charge a small fee just to cover server costs in case times get tuff. On top of that I think a small fee would prevent people from making extra email accounts and creating more then one account and trading starter money to another. If there another way to prevent cheating like that?

IP check? There are lots of ways to prevent people from making cheat accounts, that do not involve any money paying.

Not yet. Those cars have to go threw another phase with Taigo before they come to MWO. Taigo takes Mad Mikes models and then goes over them with a fine tooth comb so to say and adds the details that are required to make the car mwo ready. Not to say Mad Mike couldn't do that himself, it just allows Mike to do the cars much faster while Taigo does the tedious work of adding the fine details.

Yes, we still have to get everything running before getting new cars in game.
The Leastair will be our test mule, we will use it for testing and figuring everything that has to be done or changed.
That way we will be able to find the best solutions and make our cars look as better as possible.
So you most likely race the Leastair before seeing any other new car in game.
